Early Thursday morning, while many of us were still asleep, Chance the Rapper and Jeremih dropped the only holiday mixtape you’ll need this weekend, Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama.
The two enlisted the help of Hannibal Buress, Noname, and Lud Foe for the Christmas mixtape and dedicated the tape to their hometown. We definitely recommend “Stranger at the Table” and “I’m Your Santa.”
Yasiin Bey Drops December 99th
Yasiin Bey, a.k.a. Mos Def, still has two more albums up his sleeve, but Wednesday the rapper dropped December 99th, a collaborative album with Ferrari Sheppard. Much of the nine track LP was recorded in South Africa, where the rapper was forced to record after being denied the opportunity to leave the country when he attempted to board a plane without proper travel documents. The EP is available exclusively through Tidal.
Raleigh Ritchie’s Mind the Gap Brings 2016 to a Smooth End
Raleigh Ritchie closes out the year with a new pop, R&B EP that will satisfy fans until he releases another album. The Game of Thrones actor continues to confess it all, much like he did on You’re A Man Now, Boy, juggling romance and serious self-reflection. Along with his EP came the video for “StraitJacket,” directed by Ritchie, a video that might make you feel just a bit crazy.

Feel Inspired and Empowered By “Woman”
Lemonade writer Diana Gordon’s “Woman” has been in our head for while. Gordon says the anthem “celebrates your mother, my mother, your sister, and my sister is just my way to stand up for the woman next to me and all those unseen. We need each other and the world really needs us right now.” The gritty video five pregnant women walking through the streets of New York and is meant to “capture the incredible beauty of this ancient magic called ‘creation of life.'”
