Great news for everyone who’s as excited about OWN’s new Queen Sugar series as we are: a new extended trailer is here.
Spearheaded by multi-talented filmmaker Ava DuVernay and an all-female directorial team, Queen Sugar tells the story of New Orleans journalist Nova Bordelon, who is unexpectedly tapped to take over the family sugarcane business after her father’s sudden death.
In the extended trailer, Nova (played by True Blood star Rutina Wesley) and her siblings members are seen struggling to come to terms with their father’s untimely passing while also balancing the handling of troubling family situations in their individual daily lives.
Queen Sugar is set to premiere on OWN this September.
