Nick Cannon is about to be Wild ‘N Out on Fox. The actor and producer signed on to host and co-executive produce a weekly late-night series on the network.
The variety-style show will discuss current events and pop culture, include comedy and musical performances, and feature high-profile celebrity interviews with some of the host’s famous friends (and maybe a few of his famous exes).
Cannon, who celebrated his 37th birthday on October 8, shared how excited he was to be working on the project on Instagram. “I guess Happy Birthday to me!! Look at God!!!! LOL Time to take this game to the next level!!!,” he wrote.
His deal with Fox includes several other projects. He will be hosting their upcoming celebrity competition show The Masked Singer, and remain involved with the annual Teen Choice Awards. He will also contribute to their digital team and develop content intended to circulate on social media.
Cannon isn’t the only celebrity stepping into the late night space this pilot season. The network behind Claws enlisted its star Niecy Nash to develop a late-night show called Naked with Niecy Nash this summer.
Guess Jimmy Kimmel better keep his eyes open for some melanated competition!
