Celebrities gathered to celebrate music on Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards 2017, an event that kicked off with a massive performance from Nicki Minaj.
The rapper took the stage for a nine-minute performance that featured Lil’ Wayne, Jason Derulo, and David Guetta as the singer performed an medley that included “No Frauds,” “Swalla,” “Regret in Your Tears,” and “Light My Body Up.”
The evening also included a record-breaking win as Drake took home 13 awards at the event, breaking Adele’s record for most wins in a single night.
Beyoncé, who understandably was not in attendance, took home awards for best female artist, best R&B artist, and best touring artist.
Desiigner, Rae Sremmurd, and Travis Greene also took home awards.
With her insane performance, it seems Minaj is set to make 2017 her year after remaining relatively quiet in 2016. We’re ready for whatever she’s got.
