Andrea Kelly is ready for her close up again. The ex-wife of disgraced singer R. Kelly is back on reality TV, sharing more about her experiences with the polarizing R&B crooner.
The former Hollywood Exes star and her three children are set to appear on WEtv’s Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta, returning June 13. Viewers will see how Kelly is faring after her move back to Atlanta amidst the ongoing drama with Kelly’s child support battle and sexual abuse cases.
“As soon as I get a level of normalcy, [there is] some headline,” the former dancer says in a trailer released Wednesday as her ex-husband’s mugshot from his February arrest is flashed onscreen. “He cracked me, but he didn’t break me.”
In another scene, Kelly is seen talking to her 20-year-old daughter Buku Abi, whose birth name is Joann Kelly, who’s trying to step out of her father’s shadow.
“I don’t know what it’s like to be R. Kelly’s child. I only know what it’s like to be his ex-wife,” she advised.
Kelly, who mothered three children with the hitmaker, served as centerpiece of Lifetime’s ratings-shattering docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, which included the voices of 50 of the singer’s alleged sexual assault victims and survivors. R. Kelly has continually denied the allegations.
This season on Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta will also include other cast members such as Bow Wow, Waka Flocka and wife Tammy Rivera, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri’s daughter Shaniah Mauldin and Eazy E’s daughter ReeMarkable.
