Entertainment icon Rihanna will perform the Oscar-nominated song “Lift Me Up” at the 95th Academy Awards, live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on March 12.
The news of this groundbreaking performance was announced today by executive producers and showrunners Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner. A nine-time Grammy Award winner, Rihanna has eight multi-platinum albums, and 14 singles that reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Coming just a few weeks after her halftime show set in Arizona, today’s news is another notch under the belt of the highly-acclaimed singer.
“Lift Me Up” – with music by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goransson and lyrics by Tems and Ryan Coogler – was the lead single from the blockbuster Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The ballad is nominated for Original Song, and it is also Rihanna’s first Oscar nomination.
Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel in what will be his third time in this position, additional talent for next month’s Oscars ceremony will be revealed in the coming weeks.
The 95th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
