Sade’s son, Izaak, is opening up about the emotional toll of transitioning from female to male in a revealing post on social media.
In a photo shared from Izaak’s Instagram account over the weekend, he’s seen lying in a hospital bed while recovering from the most recent procedure.
In an accompanying caption, he describes how emotionally and physically taxing the transitioning process has been thus far.
“This process is trying, tiring, painful, emotionally exhausting, physically exhausting, uncomfortable (like I can’t sleep like a normal human being rn lol) I often ask myself ‘why the fuck do I have to endure this to be who I am,’” he wrote. “But at the end of the day this is the path that was laid out for me and I’ll walk it to the end.”
After expressing excitement at what his future could look like, he acknowledged his family for their constant support.
“Big up to my Mumma, Pappa, family, and friends for all the support you give me on the daily, ” he wrote. “It’ll never be forgotten.”
The 23-year-old was born Mickailia “Ila” Adu in 1996 and is the only child born to Sade. He first came out publicly as transgender in 2016.
