Ava DuVernay’s upcoming biopic Selma follows Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (played by The Butler’s David Oyelowo) as he prepares for the 1965 marches from Selma to Montgomery to secure voting rights for Blacks in the South. Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The anticipated film features also performances from Oprah Winfrey (who co-produced it), Cuba Gooding, Jr., Carmen Ejogo, and Common. Get your first look at what’s sure to be an Oscar contender here.
