Some of our favorite family members are coming together again. Unfortunately, it’s for a sad occasion.
Later this month, former stars of The Young & The Restless will return to the legendary CBS soap opera to pay homage to their onscreen family member Kristoff St. John, who passed away February 3 at the age of 52.
Shemar Moore, Victoria Rowell and Mishael Morgan are on board to celebrate the life of St. John, who played Neil Winters on the top-rated series since 1991.
People reports that on an upcoming episode of Y&R, the cast will gather to remember Winters, who dies unexpectedly on the show. Winters’ family and friends come from near and far to pay their respects and remember their beloved father, colleague, brother and friend.
Winters’s family members will reportedly learn of his passing on the April 23 episode, and the storyline will be featured prominently for the remainder of the week.
Moore, who went on to have a successful career in film and on television shows such asS.W.A.T., will reprise his role of Winters’ brother, Malcolm Winters, for two episodes, airing April 25 and April 26.
And then on April 29, the multiple Daytime Emmy Award-winning show will air a special tribute episode in honor of St. John with cast members sharing memories of him, accompanied by memorable clips spanning his 27 years of working on the show.
Moore, Rowell (who played Winters’ longtime love, Drucilla Winters) and Morgan (who played his ex-wife turned daughter in law Hilary Curtis) will appear.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office confirmed that St. John died due to heart disease–exacerbated by alcohol use. His death was officially ruled an accident.
Last month, he was laid to rest next to the grave of his son Julian St. John, who died by suicide in 2014.
