Calling all Gladiators! Rest easy…it’s not over yet. Scandal isn’t ending any time soon, Shonda Rhimes confirmed.
After Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer reported that Scandal would be ending with Season 6, Rhimes took to Twitter to set the facts straight.
“Whoa, @GMA: I never said this was the final season of #scandal. Way to make me spit out my coffee!” she tweeted on Wednesday.

Spencer quickly corrected herself, clarifying that Rhimes, “has an ending in mind, but that ending is not happening this next season.”
“So, correction: Ending in mind, but when that ending is happening we don’t know, so, to be continued on the Scandal scandal. More Scandal… I’m sorry I made you spit out your coffee,” she said addressing Rhimes directly.
Later the two ladies exchanged tweets of thanks and support.
Thank you for the correction, @LaraSpencer – you have my back!❤️
