PJ Morton had a dream-come-true experience this weekend when he got to perform with Stevie Wonder on the release day of Morton’s new album Paul.
The Grammy-winning keyboardist, formerly of Maroon 5, shared an Instagram video of Wonder accompanying him on the harmonica. The two talents are jamming together to Morton’s “How Deep Is Your Love.”
“I mean… I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my #PAUL release day,” he captioned the video. “Just me and Stevie having a mini jam session.”
He added: “The teacher and the student. Felt like a #KIDAGAIN. We did like 3 other songs. He got on keys, I sang.[…] These are literally my dreams playing out.”
It was great to see Wonder out and about performing after he announced plans to take a break from touring to undergo a kidney transplant later this year.
The legendary singer shared the news last month while performing at the British Summer Time Hyde Park music festival in London, following growing rumors questioning the state of his health.
“So what’s gonna happen is this: I’m going to have surgery. I’m going to have a kidney transplant in September of this year,” Wonder told the crowd, according to a fans’ video. “You aint got to hear no rumors about nothing; I told you what’s up — I’m good.”
Morton’s new album Paul comes out after he recorded a live album at Essence Festival 2019 last month.
Classic moment!
