Jordan Peele’s upcoming thriller Us has been kept under tight wraps until its release in early 2019. But a new synopsis of the film has been leaked.
According to /Film, which gained an official plot synopsis of the film used at test screenings, the film will follow a mother and a father as they take their kids to their beach house expecting to “unplug and unwind with friends.”
“But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited,” the synopsis says.
Starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, Black Panther breakout star Winston Duke, and Handmaid’s Tale lead Elisabeth Moss, Us is described as a “social thriller” that is due to hit theaters next year. Production kicked off last summer.
Us is Peele’s highly anticipated follow-up to Get Out, which grossed over $255.5 million worldwide, according to Time.
Earlier this year, Peele became the first Black writer to win an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
The film will be in theaters by March 15, 2019.
