SZA has capped off an incredible year with the release of a new video for album favorite, “The Weekend.”
Directed by Solange, the video sees SZA showing off whimsical moves in a parking garage as she sings about a messy love triangle.
SZA talked about the teaming up with Solange in an interview with USA Today, calling the “Cranes in the Sky” singer her “homegirl.” “I love her,” she said. “I think the universe is just bringing us closer to each other. That’s my homegirl.”
The singer is set to kick-off the year with a bang as well, having been nominated for five Grammys including Best New Artist.
Another lady slaying this year, Cardi B has released her new single “Bartier Cardi” featuring 21 Savage. The song brings as much heat as her hit “Bodak Yellow,” so don’t be surprised if you see it on the charts.
Cardi thrived in 2017. The rapper made history, landed two Grammy nominations, and got engaged to Migos rapper Offset. Cardi is making money moves to the top.
Kendrick Lamar has also released the visuals for “LOVE,” a track from his acclaimed album DAMN. The track features vocals from R&B artist Zacari and the video explores all the sides of Lamar.
Like, Cardi and SZA, Lamar received Grammy nominations for DAMN this year. He’ll be facing off against JAY- Z and 4:44 for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Rap Album.
