We should have known from all the hobnobbing Terrence J was doing with the Obamas before they left the White House that big things were coming. It was announced on Tuesday that the 34-year-old inked a major production deal with VH1 and MTV for upcoming projects.
As reported by Variety, Terrence’s company, Jenkins Entertainment Group, will develop and executive produce original content for both networks. Jenkins himself will also provide on-air hosting duties throughout the year for projects such as tentpole pre-shows, live events, after shows and original series.

“MTV and VH1 are some of the most iconic television brands in the world,” said Jenkins. “I grew up watching both and I can’t wait to bring my POV in programming and personality to these networks and their loyal viewers.”
Terrence is no stranger to the red carpet, having hosted pre-shows for every major Hollywood award show as a former E! News correspondent.
“We’re excited to have Terrence J join the MTV and VH1 families in both executive producer and on-air capacities,” said Amy Doyle, General Manager of MTV, VH1 and Logo. “His past work has earned him fans around the globe and we know he’ll bring his signature voice to our brands.”
In addition to currently hosting Are You The One? Aftermatch, he also produced and starred in the film The Perfect Match alongside Cassie, Donald Faison and Dascha Polanco.
