There’s no denying that Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry have a working relationship that makes television gold. On Winfrey’s OWN Network, she’s run a lot of the 47-year-old’s projects and this fall, we can expect one more.
Announced on Monday, OWN has a 38-episode series order for The Paynes, a spin-off of Perry’s long-running TBS sitcom House of Payne. For those of you familiar with the plot of the series, Curtis (LaVan Davis) and Ella Payne (Cassi Davis) have to come out of retirement in Florida because of a real estate deal gone south. Alongside the married duo on the spin-off is the hilarious Jackée Harry, whose role has yet to be revealed.
