Showtime has released the trailer for the upcoming documentary Whitney: Can I Be Me, which follows Whitney Houston’s rise to fame and it’s affect on the iconic singer.
The documentary opened the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year with various stars in attendance.
Whitney: Can I Be Me is a poignant look at the trappings of fame, Houston’s tumultuous relationship with Bobby Brown, and examines those rumors that Houston was secretly in love with her best friend Robyn Crawford, who acted as Houston’s manager, creative director, and confidante.
The trailer doesn’t give anything away and still manages to reel you in with voiceovers from friends and family as they talk about the Whitney they knew, the Whitney the public rarely saw.
Whitney: Can I Be Me airs Saturday, August 26 at 9p.m. ET on Showtime.
