Rejoice Grown-ish fans! The Freeform series has just been renewed for a third season.
Created by Kenya Barris and Larry Wilmore, the show follows Black-ish‘s Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi) as she learns to navigate life on her own and balance all that college throws at her.
Tom Ascheim, president of Freeform, said in a statement, “At Freeform, our shows are uncompromising and bullish on what’s possible when young adults are empowered to be themselves and share their voice about the things that define them and their generation.”
Since the series began, the show has gone beyond Johnson’s life, giving viewers a glimpse at the lives of Zoey’s friends. Grown-ish has also tackled a number of issues including colorism, race, drugs, sex, and relationships.
Along with Shahidi, the series also stars Chloe and Halle Bailey, Trevor Jackson, Luka Sabat, Deon Cole, Francia Raisa, Emily Arlook, and Jordan Buhat.
You can catch the current season of Grown-ish Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
