As we gear up to celebrate all things Black beauty on April 26 & 27 in New York City, we’re excited to announce the following new additions to our NYC lineup. Each of these dynamic women will join us for conversations you won’t want to miss: Beauty Icon & Entrepreneur, Iman ; Entertainer & Model, Ciara; and Entrepreneur & Television Personality, Yandy Smith.
When you think of Black women who broke barriers across multiple industries and paved the way for others to follow in her footsteps, Iman immediately comes to mind. As a supermodel, Iman dominated the fashion industry and became one of the most sought-after models among the most prominent fashion designers and fashion houses in the world. As an entrepreneur and CEO of Iman Cosmetics, the stunning Somali-American beauty built a business empire to rival the best of them.
Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Ciara has a head-to-toe glow that radiates from the inside out. She was first introduced to the world as a multi-talented entertainer with a love for dance whose unique personal style carried an heir of poised confidence. Today, the wife and mother of two is now also an entrepreneur, avid fitness enthusiast and philanthropist. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Why Not You foundation and recently “leveled up” her career by launching her own label, Beauty Marks Entertainment.
Entertainment industry guru and successful entrepreneur Yandy Smith has grown her multi-faceted brand to one that continues to empower young women across the globe. As founder & CEO of Everything Girls Love (EGL), Yandy consistently uses her platform to inspire and celebrate Black women from multiple angles.
Previously announced talent includes Jackie Aina, Misa Hylton, Whitney White, Courtney Danielle, Felicia Walker, Essie Golden and Julee Wilson. In addition to a live beauty stage, VIP experiences, glow-up sessions, meet & greets, a marketplace and more, we will also present Iman with the ESSENCE Beauty Carnival Icon Award.
