Yesterday evening, BRAG held its 49th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala in New York City. The popular non-profit organization is diversifying the fashion industry by providing mentorship and career-building skills for young people of color interested in the retail and design space.
Over the course of 49 years, BRAG has awarded $1 million in scholarship funds to minority students, also assisting with internship and college programs to prepare the future leaders of tomorrow.
Last night was no different, as the BRAG organization awarded 10 scholarships in a room filled with fashion industry insiders. Gala attendees enjoyed the night with live music, exquisite dining, and a live-auction. Before the evening concluded, BRAG honored fashion mavens, including Dapper Dan, creative director Eric Archibald and CEO of Bond Creative, Leonard Lawson. There was also a star-studded guest list, including Young Paris, Miss J Alexander and ABC News, Correspondent Linsey Davis, who served as the night’s host.
