Harlem is a place known for its deep roots in hip-hop and unique style. It gave us the Harlem Renaissance, where some of the most influential art, music, design, and so on that still inspire today. A$AP Nast is a Harlem native that has had a similar effect of influence on those around him. His love of fashion and affinity for vintage has spoken to so many. Not everyone was wearing what A$AP Nast was wearing. The whole A$AP Mob can be attributed to many fashion trends among young Black men, who encouraged them to take their style further; go outside of the usual box.
A$AP Nast has done many collaborations in the past, and we sure hope they will be continuous. This time he is working with Warby Parker to drop two pairs of sunglasses that are an embodiment of his style. The sunglasses are named NST2-002 and come in “Pink Nebula” and “Cloud White.” Both are opaque frames around black lenses in elongated proportions and temple arms that have an appeal to everyone, just like A$AP Nast.
The campaign was lensed by a good friend of the hip-hop and style star, Dexter Navy, for a cinematic feel at the Velaslavasay Panorama in Los Angeles. Not surprisingly, Nast was styled in his own clothing by Shirley Kurata because his closet seems like one worthy of coveting.
“I’m almost always in some kind of eyewear—but this collab with Warby Parker is the first time I’ve ever had a hand in designing it,” he tells ESSENCE. “I love the frames we made. They’re striking but versatile enough that I would wear them anywhere.”
The frames are available for $95 at WarbyParker.com and in select stores. Get a pair while you can!
