While clogs may conjure up images of hippie, tree huggers, this spring that may all change thanks to Karl Largerfeld. The Kaiser re-imagined the comfortable slip-on with a sky-high, wooden platform at Chanel’s Spring 2010 Collection. As one German supermodel famously put it: “One day you’re in, and the next you’re out.” Clogs, once considered the most un-fashionable shoe (close tie with those unsightly Crocs), are definitely a la mode. Following in the footsteps of countless questionable trends that unexpectedly blew up, like the harem pants and high-waisted jeans, expect to see this shoe everywhere! Well, maybe not these exact four-figure Chanel clogs, but this shoe is so hot that the affordable knockoffs are already rolling in and selling out fast. Our pick? The Jeffrey Campbell “Charli” Clog. We can always count on Jeffrey Campbell to deliver the season key looks for less and the “Charli” doesn’t disappoint. They come in black and cream and they have a convertible strap that can be worn in front of the foot or as a slingback. Personally, I never fathomed I’d be clopping around in clogs, but after trying them on, I was hooked! Damn you, Karl!
