Adwoa Aboah, who has walked the runway for countless fashion designers and also appeared on the Edward Enninful’s first cover for British Vogue, may be one of the most successful Black models of today, but allegedly she hasn’t received all of the money she’s earned over the years.
According to TMZ, Aboah recently filed a lawsuit against her former management company, The Lions Management, for not paying $190,000 she’s owed.
TMZ obtained court documents which reveal that Aboah made over $670,000 between January 2015 and July 2017, and the British model allegedly only received some of the money that was owed to her. Aboah is also accusing The Lions Management of holding her money as punishment towards her for leaving the company. Last year, Aboah left the company and is now represented by DNA Management.
Aboah is suing to get the remaining money owed to her as well as damages. In the documents, Aboah allegedly said, “Fashion models are not indentured servants.”
Hopefully, everything works out and Aboah gets the money that is rightfully owed to her.
