Rickey Thompson’s Instagram videos, and his daily quips about life, self-love and telling Felicia ‘bye’ in so many different ways is a constant pick-me-up when we need a dose of laughter!
Thompson’s infectious persona has garnered him millions of fans from around the world. Breakfast Club host, Charlamagne Tha God, has even shared Thompson’s content, suggesting that Thompson’s energy is the, “Energy I’m forever on.”
Apparently, the fashion world has been enamored with Thompson as well. Most recently, luxury designer, Alexander Wang, tapped the social media maven to walk the runway for his latest ‘Collection 2’ fashion show this week in New York.
ESSENCE was on the scene at Wang’s show and caught up with Thompson just as he glided off the runway. Check out our chat with him below.
ESSENCE: How did it feel walking for Alexander Wang?
RICKEY THOMPSON: “This is my very first runway show, I have never modeled before. The experience was absolutely amazing!”
ESSENCE: What’s the Inspiration Behind Your Hilarious Instagram Feed?
THOMPSON: “I’ll take inspiration from different problems that I’m going through, what my friends or what the world is going through, but I just try to make it funny.”
ESSENCE: Describe your personal style.
THOMPSON: “My personal style is a very 90’s, early 2000’s type of look- very baggy but also fitted at the top. Very cute!”
Before he sashayed backstage, Thompson revealed that he plans on doing more modeling, getting on TV and film, and becoming an all-around star. He lalso eft us with a few choice words for all the haters who might not appreciate his aesthetic.
“Don’t come for me,” he said. “All the bullies who see me doing things right now, don’t try it. You know who you are. I will never forget you, baby!”
