Vintage t-shirts have made a major comeback in recent years, and it doesn’t look like the trend is going anywhere anytime soon. Designer Alexander Wang has teamed up with New York City-based vintage brand Procell on a curated collection of hip hop-influenced vintage concert t-shirts.
In an exclusive interview with HypeBeast, Wang shared more on the ProcellxAW collaboration, and his love for vintage band t-shirts. “I’ve always believed that ‘luxury’ is defined in many ways; to some, a rare T-shirt with sentimental value may be the most luxurious item in their closet,” said Wang.
“These shirts are not only articles of clothing, they really are artifacts from a moment in time. I love how they tell a story from such a specific event and simultaneously blend a feeling of discovery and nostalgia.”
The limited edition line of t-shirts will pay homage to various hip hop and R&B legends including Aaliyah, Dr. Dre, Snopp Dogg, Lauryn Hill, Janet Jackson and The Notorious B.I.G.
The t-shirts will be available exclusively at Alexander Wang’s NYC flagship store starting tomorrow until September 13.
