Bounce music legend Big Freedia celebrated Black LGBTQ celebrities by rocking a colorful t-shirt from Rebels + Royals.
“#YouAlreadyyyyyyyyKnowwwwww,” she wrote in the caption for the picture. “Black Pride Matters.”
The shirt lists her own name alongside the names of Frank Ocean, Janet Mock, Justin Simien, Amandla Stenberg, Kevin Abstract, Lena Waithe, and Janelle Monae.
The celebrities highlighted on the shirt have greatly increased the visibility of Black LGBTQ people in the mainstream media by publicly embracing all of themselves in the worlds of music, film, and television.
Camille Reaves-Andrews, who identifies as a Black queer woman, founded the San Diego-based company three years ago.
She told ESSENCE in a statement that the design “celebrates the diversity amongst those living the Black experience, especially the Black Queer community.”
Reaves-Andrews shared how excited she was that Big Freedia wore her design on the company’s Instagram page.
She wrote, “We’re BOUNCING with excitement and we just wanna share.”
