From Avant-garde gowns to mixed checkered power suits, Christopher John Rogers has proven how versatile his design range can stretch. Although Rogers is an emerging designer he has managed to create looks for style mavens like Lizzo and Michelle Obama and landed a CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Nomination.
This afternoon, the Baton Rogue-born designer presented his Spring/Summer 2020 collection that consisted of bright pops of colors, ruffles, and animal-printed satin. Rogers also collaborated with Swarovski for a third season using over 150,000 Swarovski crystals. The deisgner crystallized six looks including monochromatic floral motifs and colorful sparkling sleeves. Rogers used Swarovski crystals to supplement the specific use of color and add layers of dimension to the hues for this season. Models also walked down the catwalk with Swarovski crystals integrated into their jewelry and makeup looks.
“Swarovski is very much in line with our message of imbuing optimism, ebullience, and specialness in clothes,” said Rogers.
“Swarovski is very much in line with our message of imbuing optimism, ebullience, and specialness in clothes,” Rogers said. “For Spring 2020, we really wanted to take advantage of the wide range of colors available to us by applying Swarovski hot fixed grids of hot pink, clementine, gray and green Swarovski crystals on a variety of silk bases”
