The summer of 2018 has been a hot one and it seems Ciara has turned the heat up yet again. Since early July, CiCi has heated up the charts with her hyper-fast hit single “Level Up,” which has caused a social media dance challenge frenzy much like Drake’s “In My Feelings.”
Yet, with her new single “Freak Me,” Ciara slows down the melody and gives us a rhythmic, Afrobeat flavor just in time for balmy end-of-summer nights.
In her recent promotion of the new single, Ciara released video clips on her Instagram that show she and her crew decked out in glorious South African fashion designs and sleekly braided hairstyles.
Appearing on screen in a flowing, black-and-white dress worn over hot pants and topped off with a tiered choker and stylish sneakers, her crew dances behind her in traditional Ankara printed fabrics styled in pleated skirts, button-down tops, and a long dress. The designs by Rich Mnisi (a Johannesburg ready-to-wear brand), were colorful and paired perfectly with the street style theme and setting of the video. The video was co-styled by multimedia visual artist and mega talent Trevor Stuurman.
