When the DJ duo Coco and Breezy aren’t spinning the turntables, they’re creating chic eyewear. The stylish twins have partnered up with The Helm–a new e-commerce site featuring female-founded brands–for their latest release. “Growing up in Minnesota, we wore sunglasses as a shield of protection that made us feel fearless and truly ourselves. We really wanted to share that confidence and help others feel it too,” the pair told ESSENCE. Their new collection of aviators is called “Dreamers”–inspired by trailblazers in the 1970s like Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda.
The classic shades have a slightly vintage feel, thanks to the retro shape, however shiny and matte finishes add a new age twist.

“What we love most about this collection is the whole process behind it. Everything from the initial brainstorming to the final design and even the photo and video shoot, has been led by women,” said the DJ duo. A portion of the proceeds from their new collection will be donated to the Helm’s VC fund, a resource that is being created to help back the new generation of female founders.
