Dressing for New Year’s Eve, is truly a determination of how you choose enter the new year. As a late December birthday myself, I feel I was born to wear sparkles. However, as a wardrobe stylist I work with my clients to set a style statement for the New Year’. I want my clients to say with their wardrobe that “I was fierce last year, and this year I’ll be even better”.
I only have three major NYE rules. My rules are simple and straight-forward but they prevent my clients from losing their cool.
Rule #1: Never ever wear new shoes to the party. This is not just a NYE rule, this is a life rule. However, oftentimes, on New Years women opt to take the risk of new shoes, and they’re often sorely disappointed. To keep yourself on point and comfortable, get your shoes at least two weeks ahead of time and wear them around the house for a bit. Feet that hurt is not a cute look and they will most definitely ruin your night.
Rule #2: New Years Eve is a night to dress a little sexier than usual, however, this is not the right night to wear Spanx and a strapless bra for the first time all year. Make sure your foundation garments are right for your outfit and for what the night brings. If you are going to be dancing, make sure your bra will stay in place. Make sure your foundation garments colors work under your outfit. There is nothing worse the seeing your NYE photos are ruined because your bra showing because of the camera flash.
Rule #3:Add some shine. Add bling, glitter and sequins, it is a new year, and you should shine bright. Just add them in a way that makes sense. While you want to make sure you stand out, you don’t want to look like a disco ball
Here are seven show stopping dresses for NYE that will make everyone stop and take notice:THE SHOW-STOPPER
