Have you ever been just obsessed with a color? No matter how many pieces of clothing you own, you just need one more in that color. I’m not sure if it is the gloomy winter weather, or if this color just gives me life, but right now yellow is a color taking over my closet.
I used to believe that as a dark-skinned girl I couldn’t wear yellow. Growing up I felt like I was too dark — and as I got older I started to think I was too large to wear such a bright color. It always felt like it wasn’t appropriate for me to wear. Then I realized how great it looks on darker skin tones.

As a wardrobe stylist, I have to remind myself that there are other colors in the rainbow. I love to mix-and-match colors that are traditionally not paired with the sunny shade. I love to put one great yellow dress with rose gold accessories, or pair a simple navy outfit with a great yellow shoe. I have also been known to rock a bold pink or a Kelly green with yellow accessories.
