Last week was a big win for music. Pop sensation Normani released her hit song ‘Motivation’ while Atlanta rapper Young Thug dropped his album ‘So Much Fun.’ However, LA songstress and originator of the viral “Moo” bop, Doja Cat, has managed to get 10 + million views on her song featuring Tyga titled, ‘Juicy.’ And while the track is a catchy bop the styling for the music video is on another level.
We got to chat with stylist Brett Alan Nelson, about all the wardrobe deets for the stylish new video. “I love Doja’s style because she already has made a lane for herself,” said Nelson. “She is corky and sexy – it allows me to have so much fun.” From a watermelon latex bodysuit to a cherry headband, Doja rocked many looks inspired by fruit. And according to Nelson, that’s the only creative direction he had for the project. “The only real creative direction I was given was fruit, and we wanted creative and sexy ways to make that happen,” said the stylist.

Red Cherry Look
“The opening cherry look she is wearing a custom “alla Britney Spears stage mic” made by the British hat designer Piers Atkinson”

Bright Lemon Look
“The lemon look was a last second moment that I had my friend Bebe Aguirre throw together for me. I knew I needed a sexy lemon moment to be with Tyga, and needed it to have a bit of a early 2000 throw back. After some back and forth that look came together in the wee hours before the video. Mixed with the coolest feather hat from Amsterdam Designer JimmyPaul.”

Grape Look
“The grape look was for sure a full collab moment with Doja and I – LA based clothing designer, Laina Rauma, made me the custom “ghost” bikini and the jacket was by Madrid based designer, Dominnico. The mask was something I had in my kit that Doja saw and was obsessed with. “

Striped Watermelon Look
“We went back and forth a bit to figure out which fruit would be best and I knew it was a watermelon – as attractive on the outside as on the inside. My favorite latex designer in Los Angeles VEX LATEX turned out all of the custom latex in the video. Thank God my fashion archive memory is like gold because there is a British shoe designer named Kira Goodey that made those watermelon wedges like 10 seasons ago”
