Rich Mnisi hailing all the way from South Africa found his namesake brand in 2015 after winning African Fashion International Young Designer of the Year 2014. Mnisi’s designs always captivate with color, silhouette, and pattern bringing a new element to the world of fashion.
Mnisi is also best known for blurring gender lines by embellishing tuxedos with corsets and adding a masculine flair to belt bags. Mnisi’s talents aren’t only limited to fashion, he now has a furniture collection, The Nwa-Mulamula collection, inspired by his great-grandmother which is featured in Southern Guild’s Cape Town Silo District Gallery. His career in the creative realm has been nothing less than stellar, so it was no surprise when Essence named him the Emerging Designer of the Year at our first Best in Black Fashion awards.
