Entrepreneur and CEO of Mess In A Bottle, Kalilah Wright took her audience to church on Sunday as she dropped several gems about branding and entrepreneurship at the inaugural ESSENCE Fashion House. Mess In A Bottle sells tees with with dope messaging packaged in reusable bottles.
“There are going to be things that are going to stop you, but you have to know how to react to them. Always heal through the process.”
Prior to launching her brand, Wright worked at Under Armor, but realized she was more passionate about being her own boss. She started out with just ten t-shirts and five bottles. Remaining patient and focused about her product, Wright eventually received the recognition she deserved when Lena Waithe stepped onto the red carpet wearing one of her designs. Waithe’s constant promotion led her to gaining popularity among additional celebrities like Serena Williams.
Wright ended her panel by encouraging her audience to keep going no matter what obstacles or challenges may come their way. “Do know that there are going to be things that are going to stop you, but you have to know how to react to them. Always heal through the process,” she said.
