If you don’t know by now, ESSENCE Fashion House was the place to be this weekend. It was all things style at Gallier Hall during Essence Festival and many gems were dropped at our panels and workshops with industry pros. The historic, four-story building in New Orleans featured fashion shows, pop-up shops and masterclasses key insiders.
Ivory Coast-based designer Loza Maléombho blessed attendees with her coveted collection during the last two days of Fashion House, closing out the inaugural activation on Sunday with a fashion show. Maléombho sent models down the runway wearing custom face jewelry that complimented the signature gold accents on her pieces. Each look featured traditional African prints reimagined into sexy dresses and cut-out pantsuits.
The young talent is swiftly making a name for herself; Kelly Rowland was spotted in her designs at Tina Knowles‘ Wearable Art Gala and Teyana Taylor and Iman donned her looks in their July/August ESSENCE cover shoots.
