For Spring 2013 Reese combines a variety of textures, patterns and details for an effortless collection of versatile silhouettes. Inspired by the rich range of hues found in David Hockney landscapes, Reese’s palette focuses on foliage-inspired greens, complimented by cool blues, lilacs, tangerines and neutrals. Reese achieves an unexpected and refreshing collection with the juxtaposition of organic and technical, soft and structured and sporty and feminine.
“Spring 2013 in captures the perfect harmony between glamour and modern,” B Michael explains. “This collection is very specific — appealing to women who enjoy their femininity. The silhouettes are made of patterns, that in some instance, are 69 pieces for a single dress — only possible for couture. Fabrics are luxe and manipulated for texture or combined to create illusions of texture and color.”
“There are two palettes. For day clothes: lots of navy-white neutrals; cocktail and party dresses in vivid floral tones such as coral. For evening: strong floral still against white or black. “
“My Spring 2013 collection was inspired by the Dream Ballet as performed by the American Ballet Theatre,” says Christian Siriano. “When I watched their performance, I was immediately taken with the costumes worn by the dancers. The way each layer of colored tulle blended together as the dancers moved across the stage was beautiful and captivating. I wanted this collection to feel like that — romantic, feminine and delicate — but also modern enough to be wearable for women today.”
