If you’ve been keeping up, you know that June Ambrose is the ultimate girl about town during fashion week.
The stylist extraordinaire can always be counted on to give the play by play of what is happening behind the scenes, but Ambrose took a break from the festivities to give details about her very own line with HSN.
Fans may be aware of her previous venture with HSN but June says the new partnership is special because it marks the beginning of her official line.
“This is the first June by June Ambrose, the brand is officially launching here for the first time. We haven’t really told that story,” she revealed.
Although she’s made some additions such as apparel, outerwear and handbags, June says she had the customer and her favorites in mind when creating the new line.”I stuck to certain things that worked really well….I just upgraded them and gave you a little bit more,” she said.
“I know I have conscious areas and my stomach is one,” said Ambrose on why she thoughtfully included a twist-front knit dress design. “The average woman doesn’t have a Kim Kardashian body so I wanted the DNA of it to have a solution and this is the solution for that. That’s what I spent time working on with the technical design team.”
When it came to the inspiration behind the new venture June says it was an even mix between glamour and grunge. “The whole collection was like that biker chic chick from the seventies. She’s tough but she’s still high fashion. You see this bike with lots of chrome and then you see this woman jumping on it with a skirt. It was a lot of street a lot of grittiness but then it was all this high fashion toughness.”
With a focus on pleasing “her girls” and creating something that works for everyone, Ambrose says ultimately her goals were met.
“I wanted things that you could mix high and low. I was looking for things with punctuation, effortless punctuation. Comfort was key for me. I wanted you to feel as you’re getting around town in this urban jungle that you have the right wheels on.
