Kanye West’s show was a lot more colorful than we initially thought.
The YEEZY season 4 New York Fashion Week show was a wave of natural-haired, beautiful Black and brown girls.
Held outside on New York’s Roosevelt Island, more than 100 models draped in Kanye’s signature monochromatic athletic wear lined the grassy field.
A few lucky editors, artists (Pusha T, Desiigner, Fabolous) and of course, the Kardashian clan stood underneath trees as the models paraded down a triangular runway.
Early this week, Ye tweeted out the casting criteria for his show asking for “Multiracial women only.” The Internet exploded with resounding offense.
But today, the critiques were mummed as one-by-one, the girls marched, each lending a beautiful shade of brown to the sea of model.
Teyana Taylor, Chanel Iman, Jeneil Williams, Sophia Richie and Grace Bol were among the Black girls on the runway.
Editors and guests alike applauded Ye for his ode to multi-ethnic Black women.
