The print and cut of the dress immediately caught my eye. Bright, vibrant red is one of my favorite colors! And the silk fabric felt amazing on my skin! Believe it or not, I randomly found this gorgeous dress in my mother’s garage! I asked her about it. I don’t think she even knew how it got in there! A real hidden treasure. I paired the dress with my favorite TopShop floral platforms, which were a fabulous complement to the subtle floral design of the dress. What can I say? I simply adore mixing prints!! Throw in a vintage beaded bag and off I go!
First show of the day was Jenny Packham. Bright and early, I headed to the tents with my fellow fashionista, Sureme. I had been looking forward to seeing Jenny Packham ever since Duchess Catherine stepped out in one of her gorgeous gowns at the ARK Gala in London a few months ago.
Packham’s show was a collection of utterly breathtaking dresses in an array of colors; white, coral, lime, orange, red! Many of them were dripping with Swarovski crystals. I literally loved every dress! After the show, I was interviewed by Swedish TV, so much fun! Later that day it was time for the show I look forward to each season: Betsey Johnson!
This year, Betsey was inspired by Brigitte Bardot and the Burlesque dancers of the 1940s. They even opened the show with Lulu, Betsey’s daughter! What a show! I had never seen so many curvy models on a runway at NYFW. No one does it like Betsey. A true innovator.
