On Friday, September 6th Telfar Clemens teased his latest collection at a nondescript location in Brooklyn. Ahead of his highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2020 runway show (set to debut during Paris Fashion Week), the Queens born designer presented a first look at his forthcoming pieces via a private film screening.
The theme of his new collection is “migration”. The video took guests on a journey from New York to Paris with fashion insiders and celebrities in attendance such as A$AP Ferg, Young Paris, Jorge “Gitto” Wright and actor Ashton Sanders, who also starred in the film. An after party with Essentia, Budweiser and White Castle closed out the night.
Since launching his eponymous collection in 2005, Clemens has made a huge impact on the fashion community. His collection’s tagline, “not for you − it’s for everyone,” has made many take notice to gender fluidity in design. In 2017, Clemens won the CDFA Award for Accessories Designer of the Year. He is undeniably the King of New York Fashion, winning over a-listers likes of Solange Knowles and gaining acclaim with his refreshing take on street style.
