Popular retailer Forever 21 is in hot water after customers started reporting that they were receiving Atkins Diet Bars with their online orders. Curvy women who have ordered from the brand’s plus-size offerings within the last week were shocked to find low-carb snacks included in their shipments. “Hey @forever21 do you include weight loss Atkin bars in all your shipments or just in the ones for ladies over 1X,” said a confused customer on Twitter.
The brand released a statement addressing the scandal saying, “Forever 21 surprises our customers with free test products from third parties in their e-commerce orders. The freebie items in question were included in all online orders, across all sizes and categories, for a limited time and have since been removed.”
Still, customers are unhappy about the Atkin snacks being included in their orders. Atkins released a statement to PEOPLE claiming, “The intention of sampling Atkins products is to share snacks that taste great with optimal nutritional benefits.”
