Founded by the late, Guccio Gucci in 1921 the brand has come to be associated with wealth and timely trends, and is often found at the top of the list for most-favored brands in pop culture. Last year, the brand found itself in the hot seat of Black culture when its Cruise 2018 collection featured a replica of one of legendary Harlem designer, Dapper Dan’s 1980’s puff-sleeve jacket designs.
Since then, the brand has made amends with Dan and they’ve collaborated on a Fall 2018 capsule collection that debuted at this weekend’s store opening. The collection features Gucci’s iconic ‘double-G’ logo branding paired with denim, canvas and leather, and incorporates jackets, pants and accessories.
The Wooster street location is now open to the public. Happy shopping!!
