Just one week after it was announced that Kanye West’s Yeezy label was accused of copying camouflage designs, it’s now been revealed that West allegedly does not own the Yeezy trademark.
According to TMZ, West didn’t file the paperwork to trade Yeezy clothing last year, and now a Chinese apparel company named Fujian Baby Network Technology Co has secured a trademark for “Yeezy Boost.” Apparently West and his company will have to face them in the court to obtain the official trademark for his brand.
Luckily, West does own the trademark for his footwear but the rapper/fashion designer and his company failed to legally claim the name for his clothing line. Now West’s company has filed paperwork with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in an effort to prevent the other company from using the name.
Considering the other pending lawsuit and the fact that the apparel and shoes from the Yeezy Season 7 collection are expected to be released soon, we wish West nothing but the best in his legal matters.
