Yesterday evening, Kappa celebrated the 50th anniversary of its sportswear and lifestyle icon: the Omini logo. At Miami’s newest skatepark the brand Lot 11, Kappa tapped British author and art curator Neville Wakefield and Italian performance artist Vanessa Beecroft to create a new interpretation of the Italian trademark with performances through 50 different iterations. The performance included 100 street-cast models paired into couples recreating the Omini logo bringing Kappa’s signature aesthetic to life.
Choreographed by Jacob Jonas The Company and orchestrated by Beecroft, performers dressed in neutral tones, recreated the Kappa logo through choreographic movement and alternating with motions rich in spontaneity. The performance was heavily inspired by Zabriskie Point, a nonconformist work and cult film by Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni
