The fashion world has seen slow but steady strides in diversity following consistent and serious backlash from Black fashion industry insiders.
The new focus on inclusion has created the perfect opportunity for Muslim Model Halima Aden to showcase her beauty and natural talent. The Somali-American model was discovered at the Miss Minnesota USA competition in 2016 where she was the first contestant to wear a hijab. Though Halima didn’t win the crown, the opportunity granted her a contract with IMG Models.
Since then, Halima has been in mega shows like Yeazy Season 5, Max Mara, and so many more.
Halima is finally slaying in her first big campaign with a London and Dubai based e-commerce brand called The Modist, which specializes in luxury conservative clothing.
The spread features Halima along with two other IMG models, Diana Silvers and Kayley King, wearing a new collection of caftans curated for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The stunning images confirm that Halima is just at the beginning of an amazing career.
