Despite all the negative news coming out of the Rio Olympics, the games will go on and the long-standing pairing of brands and athletes continues. Puma is spreading their brand influence by partnering with the Athletics Association of Barbados and supplying performance race, training wear, and federation apparel for the Rio Olympics. They are also supplying gear for the next two IAAF World Championships in what looks to be turning into a long-standing affiliation. The addition of Barbados with Puma furthers their Caribbean roster as they already partner with Cuba, Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Grenada, and Jamaica.
It just made sense to partner with Barbados, says Pascal Rolling, Puma’s head of sports marketing for running. He explains, “There is a passion for the sport there that connects it with the other federations we have under contract and it’s a great addition for us. We’re very happy to have signed this deal.”
Puma also has an individual partnership with sprinter Ramon Gittens who won the silver at last year’s Pan Am Games’ 100 meters. The global athletics brand is known for their appeal having style and flair with high performance quality.
