Right before the 4th of July holiday weekend, Harlem’s Fashion Row partnered with Nike to host 75 black designers in New York City to learn from some of the fashion industry’s leading creatives.
Brandice Daniel, founder of HFR launched the inaugural retreat to provide designers with learning objectives on how to make it in the industry as a person of color. During the three-day workshop, the designers visited the headquarters of Google, ESSENCE, Nike, The CFDA, and Dapper Dan’s Harlem atelier.
They also had insightful conversations with industry insiders including ESSENCE Global Beauty Director Julee Wilson, Brother Vellies Founder Aurora James, Bloomingdale’s VP of Integrated Marketing Kevin Hunter and more.
