There has been a lot of talk about singer Shamari DeVoe’s style on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta. The newest housewife has received a bit of shade from her castmates, especially Marlo Hampton, about her outfits. The intensity of the ridicule heightened when Hampton forcefully engaged DeVoe into a makeover and provided unsolicited fashion advice.
Despite the mockery, DeVoe remains unfazed by the situation. She told ESSENCE, “It doesn’t bother me like that, because I’ve never been the type to go after labels or just after trends and wear what other women are wearing just because. And I’m not going to let anybody change that.”
However, when it comes to the repetitive storyline, she says, “When they kept talking about it, I was like, Are we going to have a whole half a season talking about my style? Like, this is getting old. So then I started to get fed up.”
There has been a bit of back-and-forth between DeVoe and Hampton via social media recently, but it seems as though DeVoe is over Hampton’s antics and says that if she were to take any style advice from anyone it would be Tanya Sam, another RHOA castmate. “Tanya took the crown off [Hampton’s] wig by beating her in the fashion contest,” says the singer.
