Solange and Kanye West are both basically fashion icons in their own right, but the two musicians just starred in a new project for Helmut Lang.
Partnering with Exactitudes, an ongoing photo project since 1994, Helmut Lang tapped Solange, West and ten other multi-generational fans of the fashion label for a photo series to highlight the brand’s biggest collectors.
Helmut Lang recently launched the Helmut Lang Re-Edition, a capsule collection that includes iconic pieces from the brand archives. The brand had Solange, West and the other fans wear items from the capsule collection along with Helmut Lang clothing they already owned for the photo project.
Solange modeled a t-shirt from the Re-Edition Volume 1 collection with a pair of Helmut Lang seen by Shayne Oliver shorts while Kanye wore a hooded parka and sweater from the Re-Edition Volume 1 line and his own Helmut Lang jeans. The photos were shot by Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek, the founders of Exactitudes, in a similar three-by-four grid style they’ve become famous for.
Led by editor-in-residence Isabella Burley, Helmut Lang is the very first brand that Exactitudes has ever collaborated with for this iconic project. The fashion label also recently named Shayne Oliver as its designer-in-residence for its Spring 2018 season. Solange was actually spotted in a Helmut Lang seen by Shayne Oliver metallic orange dress from the runway when she hosted the inaugural Surface Magazine awards back in October.
