This Year's TIDAL X: Brooklyn Event Caused A Wave Of Red Carpet Style Moments

Wherever there’s a good cause, there’s a time to celebrate and some of our favorites were out and about in full force at this week’s 4^thAnnual TIDAL X: Brooklyn Benefit Concert. Co-owned by music icon Jay Z, Tidal’s commitment is to create a more sustainable model for the music industry, in addition to upholding charitable causes. This year, the company’s annual charity event set its sights on criminal justice reform across the country, with 100 percent of net ticket proceeds being donated to non-profit organizations such as #Cut50, Innocence Project and the Equal Justice Initiative. Performers included Teyana Taylor, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Meek Mill, The Lox with Lil’ Kim and more. While most kept their look casual for the star-studded charity concert, there was certainly no shortage of head-turning looks on the carpet. In between weighing in on the importance of supporting the charitable causes aligned with the event, a few familiar faces also chatted with ESSENCE about just how much time went into creating their looks for the evening.
