Zendaya is a fashion icon in the making and today the star further solidified this status by appearing on her very first Vogue cover.
Ahead of her starring role as Michelle in Spiderman: Homecoming, Zendaya talked to the iconic glossy about her first love, the big screen and honing into your personal power.
“A lot of people don’t realize their power,” she says. “I have so many friends who say yes to everything or feel like they can’t stand up for themselves in a situation,” she told Vogue. “No: You have the power.”
She reveals that her understanding of her own value is how she’s made it this far in the entertainment industry.
The star also dishes on growing up in Oakland, her family’s involvement in the Black Panther party and her own personal take on style.
Zendaya took to Instagram to express her excitement and gratitude about the huge moment saying,
“I really don’t have any words right now…I’m grateful, honored and a million other beautiful things that wouldn’t fit in a caption. I’M ON VOGUE Y’ALL!!!!”
